SIFF Still Going Strong

Some would say that to much of a good thing is bad for you. In certain cases I would have to agree. However, when it comes to this years film festival offerings, I would smite that saying with a hundred lashings by 8mm film.

For all of you looking for something to keep you entertained this Monday, let me offer up these lovely bits:

4:30 - Nak @ the SIFF Cinemas "is a ghoulishly fun, animated musical romp." from Thailand

7:00 - Cold Souls @ Harvard Exit "Cold Souls posits a world in which humans can have their souls extracted and implanted into each other’s bodies."

9:30 - The One-Handed Trick @ Harvard Exit

Should anyone see these before I do, please feel free to comment about them or any films seen during this festival.

On a sad note, David Carradine was found dead on June 4th in Bangkok, Thailand. A link to his Wikipedia page should you wish to read more about his history and film/tv career. RIP

Use today to capture something that will live forever.

World Famous Inc. Does it again

So, for all the people who asked what I was working on a few weeks ago. I can finally tell you as it's been released at E3. "Well what is it?!" Ok, here it is.

Microsoft have created a camera (or set of cameras) that tracks your entire body without the use of controllers. Features will also include facial & voice recognition. While working on this (for the sound department) I was intrigued to see how this worked, and while i'm not sure I can talk about the direct technology behind it, I can say that it was something I have never seen a console system try and work incredibly well before.

Take a look at what I'm talking about and imagine the possibilities for a lifestyle console due to release in 2010.

Also World Famous Inc. was amazing to work with and can only hope to be part of their future projects. Please check them out in the links area to see more of the great work they have done.

More to come!

Day 12 of SIFF

Have you had enough of Popcorn at 3pm yet?

No? Good, as there are plenty of films yet to see for that Hard-core movie buff or occasional theater patron to enjoy.

For today let me recommend the following:

Trimpin: The Sound of Invention - 4:30 pm

A Sea Change - 7:00 pm

A French Gigolo - 9:45 pm

Wanting to hear a live scored performance while watching a film? Then how about No Age playing at the Triple Door for the French family adventure film "The Bear" coming up on June 12th.

Today, I'll be attending the Wrap Party for the promotional short film shot for SIFF as I was one of two Boom-Ops and let you know of any upcoming shorts, features, or commercials that need crewing.

Keep writing, producing, and directing.

Forever,
